Huge congratulations to DOP Eng Teck Ng who won Best Cinematography in a Student Short for Caravan (2020) through the BSC Short Film Cinematography Competition 2021, sponsored by ARRI.
Produced as a graduation film for the London Film School and written and directed by William Michael Anderson, the short was filmed on 35mm with an ARRICAM LT and Zeiss Superspeeds from Procam Take 2.
Caravan centres on an outcast in a rural English community who draws the attention of a vengeful mother after a chance encounter with her two young boys. It premiered at the Academy-accredited and BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival in October 2020 and has since screened at several festivals internationally.
“We chose to shoot on film as we wanted a gritty feel that felt right for the story and hired from Procam Take 2 because of their selection of film cameras. We picked the ARRICAM LT due to its low weight and camera size as the film was to be shot mostly handheld.” - Eng Teck Ng
