Commissioned by BBC Music and produced by BBC Studios, ‘A Stormzy Special’ is a 45-minute episode filmed at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. The special will show Stormzy, the multi-award-winning British musician, opening up about his rise to fame, extraordinary success and personal and professional growth, as well as giving an insight into the creation of his third studio album. The interview is carried out by 1Xtra and Radio 2 DJ Trevor Nelson. He states, “I first interviewed Stormzy in 2014 for his debut Live Lounge at 1Xtra. When I met him, he was the hottest new MC in the UK, and now he has become a cultural icon.”
For the filming, Procam Take 2’s Projects division provided three ARRI Alexa Minis and five ARRI Amiras paired with Angenieux Optimo Zoom Lenses, Canon CN7 and CN10s, a Tokina 11-20mm and Zeiss Superspeeds in a cinematic multicamera workflow. In addition to supplying camera equipment and an experienced technical crew, PT2’s compact cine OB vehicles, OB2 and OB3, provided outside broadcast and remote production facilities.
A Stormzy Special will broadcast on BBC One on Tuesday 15th November at 10.40 pm and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
