Procam recently provided equipment to support the filming of Ross Kemp's award-winning Living With series, which returns to ITV on Thursday 11th June.
The hard-hitting series produced by Silver Star Productions, and Ross’s own production company Freshwater Films, returns with the two-part special Living with Dementia, which explores the impact of dementia – Britain’s biggest killer. The special forms half of a four-part series, which also investigates addiction to opioids, and those who have been displaced from their homes, to try to gain an authentic insight into their situations. In each episode Ross delves deep into the worlds of those affected by some of the UK’s biggest issues, and observes the reality of the challenges his contributors face.
Filming for the show began in February, before lockdown and continued throughout, meaning production had to adapt and implement measures to ensure the health and safety of the filming team and the contributors, including social distancing, the use of PPE, and disinfection of equipment. The series was filmed using two Sony FS7 MkII camera kits with Canon L Series Zoom lenses, and audio equipment from Procam.
Procam also supplied a total of five Sony FS7 MkII camera kits for another production from Silver Star Productions and Freshwater Films – Ross Kemp On The NHS Frontline. The important ITV documentary, which was risk assessed and approved by NHS England, offers viewers a true insight into the work being done by frontline medical staff throughout the coronavirus outbreak. Strict safety protocols were followed throughout production, including the separation of equipment into a dedicated filming kit for covid wards, a dedicated kit for filming in non-covid areas of the hospital, and a dedicated kit for GVs, minimising the risk of cross-contamination. Procam worked closely with production to ensure the equipment was safe by quarantining the kits before being disinfected by an appointed technician as per Procam’s health and safety protocols.
“We are pleased to have provided Silver Star Productions with the filming equipment for these shows, which both tackle sensitive and eye-opening subjects and the impact they have on people’s lives. Procam remained remotely operational during lockdown, allowing us to offer support to any clients who were part way through filming and had found ways to continue to do so safely.” said Melani Lamont, Operations and Procedures Manager, Procam.
You can catch Ross Kemp: Living with Dementia Part One on ITV at 7:30pm on ITV, and shortly after on ITV Player, with the following episodes available weekly.
